Taling Chan Floating Market

This floating market is only 12 km from the downtown area and is around a 33-minute drive from Maitria Hotel Rama 9 Bangkok. Open in the weekends, it’s well-known for culinary delights some of which are cooked on the boats. Highlights include Thai crispy pancakes, steamed blue crabs, grilled prawns, BBQ pork and more!

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

This is arguably the most famous (and touristy) floating market in Thailand; about 1.5 hours from the capital, it’s worth a visit from your budget or boutique hotel in Bangkok. Open daily, it gets quite crowded though offers some great photos of the boats. From souvenirs to boat noodles and fresh fruit, there’s plenty to see and buy.

Amphawa Floating Market

Located close to Damnoen Saduak is the Amphawa Floating Market, open from Friday to Sunday. It features vendors set up along the water or on boats; grilled seafood be it squid, shellfish or prawn dishes are popular here, while souvenirs and delectable desserts are on offer too.

Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market

Closer to Bangkok, this floating market has an authentic feel to it. Open on weekends, it has a few boats where one can witness a variety of dishes being prepared; eating areas can be found by the boats adding to the charm. The main market area is on terra firma and offers everything from fresh produce to clothing.
