A Former Royal Residence

Established in 1782 following the ascension to the throne by King Rama I, the palace complex was also home to administrative offices; it became the official residency of the Thai monarchy till 1932.
Planning Your Visit
The Grand Palace can be found in the heart of the city beside the Chao Phraya River. Around a 20-minute drive from Citadines Sukhumvit 11 Bangkok, the site is open daily from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Key Highlights & Features

Amongst the highlights are the Demon Guardians, the Royal Reception Halls, the Dusit Hall with its museum, Phra Siratana Chedi (a golden stupa) and mural paintings that depict the tale of Ramakien.
