Thailand has many historic temples, but Wat Suhat is indeed one of the oldest! King Rama I took the initiative in constructing the temple and its other features such as the main hall and the meeting hall.
The Giant Swing
The Giant Swing dates back to 1784. It follows a Brahmin religious design and was an integral part of an old Brahmin Festival. It’s 21 m tall and definitely is worth exploring!
The modifications done
The Giant Swing has faced several modifications over the years. The latest modification was in 2007 and they decided to build it out of teak wood this time. If you visit the National Museum in Bangkok, you can explore the previous version of the Giant Swing there.
