For modern shopping experiences, you can head to some of the popular malls; these include the stunning ICONSIAM which has hundreds of shops, long-time favourites such as Siam Paragon and MBK and the modern outdoor night market known as Asiatique The Riverfront. For more local shopping escapades, you can head to the sprawling Chatuchak Weekend Market depending on when you’re visiting.

Bangkok’s nightlife is world-famous, and there are plenty of places to party and have fun till the wee hours of the morning! A popular haunt amongst foreign travellers including backpackers would be Khao San Road which is packed with bars, restaurants, and street vendors. Another nightlife hotspot is Sukhumvit Road where you can dance the night away at clubs like the Sing Sing Theater and Beam Nightclub. Don’t forget to also make time to head to the Sukhumvit Street Market at night where you will find lots of stalls and street food.
