If you are looking for a way to beat Thailand’s tropical heat look no further than Black Mountain Water Park. Situated 10 kilometres north of Hua Hin and minutes from Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas, Black Mountain Water Park is one of Hua Hin’s favourite attractions. Able to accommodate 1000 people at a time, the 55,000 square-metre Black Mountain Water Park is one of the largest water parks in Asia and a must-visit destination not far from Pranburi Resort.
The 2013 winner of TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, Black Mountain Water Park offers fine outdoor family entertainment with its colourful water slides and spacious family-friendly pools. Opened in 2011, the Park welcomes visitors daily from 10 a.m to 5 p.m and is managed by the group responsible for the prestigious Black Mountain Golf Course that lies opposite the Park. A 600 Baht entrance ticket (half rate for children) allows visitors to enter the expansive Park while beautiful wooden bridges and paths carry visitors to the Park’s attractions which include nine pools and numerous water slides. A popular attraction here is the 17-metre-tall tower with nine water slides placed at different levels that carry visitors to the pools below. Visitors can opt for an exhilarating 76-meter journey along The Bee, snake through the 86-meter-long Blue Snake or take the thrilling 50 kilometre-per-hour ride along The Purple Speed under the watchful eyes of the Park’s trained lifeguards.
For a more relaxing afternoon, float along the slow-flowing ‘Lazy River” or lounge beside the Kids Pool to watch children enjoy playing with water guns, water slides and colourful climbing rods. Walk along the Park’s beautiful man-made lake and engage in an exciting game of water polo before wake boarding in the two metre-tall waves of the Wave Pool. An extra fee allows visitors to use the Park’s lockers and towels while a large food court serves Western and Thai dishes and snack and ice cream kiosks lie scattered across the Park. Finally, enjoy Thailand’s warm weather with a cool cocktail at the edge of the breathtaking Infinity Pool.
