Explore Wat Arun, the Temple of the Dawn

Immerse in Thai culture

Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun is one of the most visited religious and cultural attractions in Bangkok. With its amazing architectural details and the central location, the temple attracts tourists who like to see historical and cultural features.

How to get here

Located just 11 minutes from Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, you can get here by taxi or ferry – needless to say, a ferry ride is the most ideal option for travellers wanting to soak up Bangkok’s scenic beauty. If you are staying at one of the Bangkok resorts close to the river, you can get here in no time.

The entrance of the Ordination Hall

The entrance to the Ordination Hall is an excellent spot to take pictures. You will find two huge statues guarding the entrance. The best time to visit is in the morning.

The main temple

One of the most sacred places in the temple complex, the main temple area is adorned with figurines of dragons, lions, and warriors. The amazing corridors and the courtyard are two noteworthy features of the main temple.

When to visit

The temple is open every day from 8 AM to 5.30 PM, and there’s no entrance fee. If you are a tourist, try to get here before 10 AM as there are lesser crowds during the morning hours.
